# Editions & pricing

> What Lite and Pro include, how the Pro license is priced, and how Image Studio credits work.

Godot MCP Studio comes in two editions. Both run locally on Windows and macOS,
connect the same AI clients, and use the same Safe Edit and Full Control
[permission modes](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/docs/permission-modes).

## Lite

Lite is free. It needs no account, no license and no sign-up: download it from
the [download page](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/download) and start. It has a focused set of tools for
scenes, scripts and signals, so you can connect your AI to the real Godot editor
and try the workflow. Lite installs as its own app and add-on
(`addons/godot_mcp_studio_lite/`), so it never conflicts with Pro.

## Pro

Pro has every tool in the catalog. On top of Lite it adds:

- Playtesting: your AI runs the game, sends input, tests hover effects, takes
  screenshots, finds UI that spills off screen and reads runtime errors. See

- Creative tools for animation, shaders, particles, lighting, audio, tilemaps
  and 3D.
- More skills, and ready-to-install [templates](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/templates), that give your AI
  a head start on controllers, combat, NPCs and multiplayer.
- [Image Studio](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/docs/image-studio) for drawing, editing and generating game
  art, with starter generation credits.
- Project Health and Repair, and a Diagnostics Bundle for support.

## What Pro costs

Pro is a one-time payment, not a subscription. You get a lifetime v1.x license
for personal and commercial projects, with every v1.x update, on up to three
devices you own. The current price, and any running discount, is shown in the
[pricing section](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/#pricing) of our homepage and at checkout. The support chat
can also tell you the current price.

After you buy, sign in, download Pro and activate it with a code from your

## Image Studio credits

Drawing, local editing and export in Image Studio are free. Only AI generation
and AI edits use credits, and the app shows the exact cost before you approve a
request. Pro starts with a grant of generation credits, and you can buy more in
packs. Pack prices are listed in the [Image Studio section](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/#image-studio) of
our homepage and on your [Account page](https://www.godotmcpstudio.com/account).
